This is a white chocolate mud cake with white chocolate icing. Yes, you heard correctly. I made it yesterday. It tastes amazingly yummy, but it is so sweeeet that it makes me sweat when I eat even the teeniest bit.
If you are fortunate enough to be joining the Pioneers of Swedish Death Metal at trivia tomorrow night, you may well be privvy to some of this culinary delight!
Thankyou to the lovely Leisa and Jamie for having me over on Friday night. Leisa and I shared our trivia prize of champagne, and she made me a yummy laksa and then beat me in Buzz - but I loved every minute of it!
Another great night hosted by the Annandale (love you guys) with Ground Components and Dan Kelly. Ground Components rocked - again, but what is it with support band audiences? Is there an unwritten rule that you must stay at least 10 paces back from the stage when the support is on, only to crush forward for the main band? Is this to show allegiance to the main act? Is it to remind the support that they really are just that? Well I danced at the front, with our new friend Bek, cos Ground Components were fun. Didnt stay for Dantheman. Had to go and meet Sverker Berzerka.
I have failed in the past to mention Berzerka's impressive facial hair, but he does it well
We missed seeing Nunchuka Superfly with him but caught a little Dreadnought. Then we awayed to Spectrum for a boogie cos it's bin so long, with the promise that Berzerka would soon be there. It was his last night out before going back to Sweden after being here for the last year, and our first night out was spent there, so it was only fitting.
Then after much deliberation about who exactly he was, Patti recognised Robot Man aka Chris of the dakking incident (see July 12). And we went to Q and played ping pong - which I think is really hard when its dark and I'm under the influence of a little champagne!
Meanwhile, unbeknownst to me, Berzerka was downstairs and wanting to come in. He wasn't allowed, and while waiting to see if I checked my phone, the bouncer seemed to take a distinct dislike to him. The bastard attacked Sverker from behind!
Poor Sverker has to be operated on for fractures (including his eye-socket!) tomorrow, and he's not going home just yet.
What the fuck is wrong with these people?! What kind of drugs are they on? There was no hint of self-defense here. It was pure steroid/ice/dickhead induced violence! I just wanna know how well they sleep after a performance like that. It's REALLY inexcusable. Berzerka is such a sweetheart, he shouldn't have had this happen, and, yeah, I totally feel responsible cos he was coming to meet up with me, and I didn't get his call. Fucking bouncer-shitheel.
Otherwise a fun night.
And. In case you were wondering. I'm into day 3 of having no voice (some say that's a good thing - but tricky for a kindy teacher), and day 3 of having the Justus vs Simeon song on my brain!
Saturday was market day at the Annandale again. I had a good day on the comfy bench seat. Model School played but I didn't really catch them. And I left early to take my gear home and go back there that night for Ground Components.
Sale of the day went to Pinky - the cutest pup in town (and now the most stylish)...
Stoked! I tried so hard to get a damn ticket for the Strokes on ebay etc. Had a $110 limit though. Got outbid on every one. Thought I'd just give it a shot at the venue, and Hallelujah, a loverly group of young chaps had a spare, which they let me have a cost price - the sweeties.
Dolly had a great time, except when I asked her to get me a drink while she had a wee-break and she missed about 3 corkers!
Mustacas were very thin on the ground last night. I cornered a couple of guys at the Townie afterwards but my camera was on the wrong setting so the pic isn't great. Thanks to the boys anyway. They're in a band - The Mules. I'll check out their myspace later.
Cass and I took our little friend (who will remain nameless to protect her anonimity) to the Presets. As you can see, she went off. In the end, we had to reign her in - she got a little outta hand....
Then my house flooded.
Then I stayed in a hotel.
Then I went ot Byron.
Waiting at the airport to come home, I saw this..
Perhaps I shoulda bought it. I coulda tried it on unsuspecting young men.
And, since living in the swanky part o' town, I have become chronically addicted to $7 Taramsalata. Soooo expensive. Soooo good...

My house is covered in a fine film of mud-dust MUUUUUUUUUUM!!!!!. It smells of damp. My floorboards are starting to curve (good cos new ones would be nice), and heaps of stuff needs replacing.
And so, after 5 nights in a hotel and eating out every night, I figure its time for a holiday, so I'm off to Byron.
Even though I'm not really into them, the Presets were good on Friday. The 18yr old chicks with a thick layer of orange make-up on them were not. Tip of the day - Girls, if you don't have pimples or wrinkles don't wear foundation. A lightly tinted mousturiser would be infinately more flattering.
