I really enjoy visiting the Quarantine Station, but it's a bit of a different ball game visiting at night, as compared to our last visit on the Q Station Open Day. With the lights off it can be quite spooky.
I had been there for a ghost tour a few years back, with my mother. We had a great night exploring and hearing about the history as well as tales of otherworldly activity, but I thought I should wait until the kids were older before I took them – I didn't want to induce any bad dreams.
Anyway, they are old enough now, so last Saturday night we went and did the 'Ghost Trackers' tour which is geared towards 10 to 15 year olds. Less about history and more interactive, the kids are all given divining (dowsing) rods and encouraged to communicate with the departed.
Evan, ever the skeptic, did point out how silly everyone looked walking around the darkened rooms talking to…
..themselves,
but even he had a good time.
The sky was beautiful before our tour began.
I love doing stuff with my kids.
They make me smile.
