The stage was set…
It was a bathroom with a fully stocked bar…
I guess if anyone needs a fully stocked bar in rooms including the bathroom it’s these boys. I first saw Tex Perkins 1000 years ago playing to a small daytime audience at the Hopetoun. He was doing a set of Elvis covers. He was hot. I didn’t see him again (I don’t think) until last year with Beasts of Bourbon at the Gaelic. I was very dissapointed. He was chunky. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. But for Tex it was all wrong. I am pleased to say he’s trimmed down again, and his dieting method doesn’t appear to be smack this time. Must be all that fruit juice up the coast! I have never seen Tim Rodgers perform before. No particular reason, just haven’t. But, they were really fun.
Leisa and I had a great spot at the front – support band semi-circle again! So we just walked to the spacious area at the front provided by the punters who show no support to the support, and we had a great spot for both. Rebecca Barnard was was good, people coulda made the effort!
The boys shared a great camerarderie onstage and I laughed a lot. Song highlight was “You’re 39, you’re beautiful and you’re mine”. Aaaawwww guys! You make us in our 30’s feel like there’s some hope!
