For those of you (you know who you are), curious
about the view from that bumpy bit that’s up high in a jumbo. You know, the one
you climb stairs, within the aircraft, to sit in. Everything looks smaller from
up here.
It’s a tough life always getting upgrades, but I guess I’ll shoulder the burden if I
have to.
Tough life too, being served gratis champagne – a fine drop, I might add – at 7.30am.
Pretty much downhill from there.
Normally.
But not for me. I took that first glass, then a second. My flight had been delayed.
I was breakfasting at the Sofitel. A delightful start to the day.
I’m kind of a nervous flyer nowadays. I tend to white-knuckle my way through
take-offs, landings and any degree of turbulence. The champagne that I
continued to indulge in throughout the day assisted me in dealing with this
fear. After all, the people upstairs in the jumbo are generally no safer than
those downstairs in the economy-swill-pit. Did I mention I was upstairs
travelling both to and from??
Cheers
I love love love going on
holidays. I hadn’t travelled overseas since 2001. My Fiji sojourn was perfect.
Next time I won’t wait so
long.
Some cropping of photos has occurred in this
re-post from my previous blog. For those who
are super-keen, a right-click on the image
to view it in a new tab will show the full size.
Apologies.
