My team should be in the Grand Final tonight – but
they’re not. Nope, Norths don’t get too much of a run in the Grand Final these
days – ok, not for the last 5 or so decades, but that’s not the point! The
point is, while I would love to support my local team who has made it through,
it feels hollow without my Bears in the premiership.
As you may or may not recall, after my attempt at a
bonfire in a satellite dish went awry, my dear Dad suggested it could do a top
job re-incarnated as a lily pond…
And even the ducks agree. Aren’t ducks funny things. I’ve written about
them visiting me before, and my cat not stalking them. My cat has changed her
tune a little after having the 3 chickens constantly act as standover hens to
her. She’s a bit tougher on the ducks now. But they still visit. The thing I
think is so funny, they have a huge body of water just down the road (where
they live), but they snatch any opportunity to try out all others, no matter
how small and lacking in yummy things to eat (I only made filled the pond 2
days ago)! Like some form of couch-surfing. Testing it out, just in case
they’re in the area, and need a place to crash.
