In true Sonny style, we arrived in the morning and kept going all day. I struggled to keep the kids awake, after letting them have an hour nap in the car, they fell asleep again, while pretending to be reading. When we woke them up for dinner they were so funny, I wish I’d videoed them. It was like they were really, really drunk. They had no idea what was going on. The upside of my parental cruelty was they all slept a sound night’s sleep, and have no jet-lag.
But, the next day we were off again.
First, we went to have a look at another of Sonny’s exhibitions – this one of Antwerp Academy students’ designs.
Lunch, then…
…we went to the zoo.
The chimpanzees made my day!
They were carrying on, stealing straw from each other and running through the rooms, making such a ruckus, but they were so funny.
Once the food arrived, they all calmed down.
I am madly in love with my friend, Shell, for giving me this 1.8 lens for my birthday – I haven’t taken it off the camera since I got here!
Zoos are lovely for kids, but sometimes they make me sad.
Love the lens!
After the zoo we dropped in to see Sonny’s Granny and pick some strawberries. We were going to be staying with Granny, like I did last time I visited, but Sonny’s aunt and uncle have very generously offered for us to stay with them, so we took the strawberries to Wim and Hilda’s.
Sonny Vandevelde. Put “van de velde” into free translations and see what I mean.
Now, I’m sure there was a kid in that corn field, but how do we find him?….
….Aaaah! I know!
Granny gave the kids some bubbles.
