It's the end of the official Day 3, and I have no more images to show you at the moment – they are still on Sonny's computer.
Suffice to say, it has been pretty hectic so far – waking up this morning feeling like it surely should be Friday already, have I not lived a thousand lives in the past two and a half days? But no, it was just the start of a busy Day 3, after an equally busy Days 1 and 2.
Foot blister tally is up to great heights never before reached. I wore heels to Romance Was Born on Sunday, never in my wildest dreams expecting to be on them for five hours straight, and have not been able to go there since. Today, even adopting a fashion faux pas extreme with thongs! (interchanged with kitten heels where necessary).
Currently I sit with and ice pack on my knee, which has had a gross fluid lump on it for two days, while Sonny sits opposite me with his computer open and processing and his head slumped to the side catching a rare and brief moment of slumber.
We are in The Westin. Lovely hotel. Beautiful, deep bath, but there is not a lot of luxuriating going on. Lack of sleep and meals takes it's toll. Most luxurious thing for me, is not doing the processing of my photos.
Which is a total luxury, even if I do lose some creative control, as it means I can sit here and write this now as my finished pictures for the day are on their way to New York.
On the phone to my kids last night India asked me if I had made friends with any of the models. I reminded her how shy I was and she told me it was easy… I should first approach them and ask to take their photo (well, ok, I've got that bit down), then I should offer to buy them a drink (?), and then, when they are having a drink, I should just say, "Do you want to be my friend?".
Simple! I'll just have to make sure I have my camera with me when I'm next up in the Rosemount bar….
