In 1977, we were going to go to Venice, but Aldo Moro was assassinated when we were in Rome – so everything in Rome was closed. rather than miss out on seeing Rome, we missed out on Venice.
In 1984, we were in India, about to board a flight to Kashmir. The flight before ours was hijacked – there was a bit of that sort of thing going on, so my parents erred on the side of caution an we didn't go to Kashmir.
In 2008, the day before Bastille, The Eiffel Tower closed early. I had to leave the next morning, so I missed out on the view.
Travel often involves changes. This trip is no exception.
A quick Euro-update……
I was hoping to, by now, be showing you beautiful Chateau pictures, and sharing tales of our adventures in Spain, but my limited internet through Spain has been further limited by being a guest of the Lenval Hospital in Nice, France.
En route between Spain and Trieste, Italy, little Evan's stomach was aching too much. He had an appendectomy on Thursday, and has had a bit of a rough time recuperating, since. Poor little guy. He finds it quite stressful not being able to communicate with the medical staff – and I'm sure cringes at my shocking attempts!
We still don't know how much longer he will need to be there. Lucky Sonny is here to look after Belle and India, while I am holed-up in the hospital with Ev, the only plus being the amazing view of the Riviera from the 6th fl window.
So no Trieste, and maybe now no Croatia, we just have to see how it goes.
Oh, and the girls and I have nits, courtesy of a quick play date before we left home. AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGHHHHHHHHHH!
Will post pictures of pretty things as soon as I get more internet time.
In the meantime, check out Sonny's blog as he has updated a few things, now.
