The bastardisation of the English language irks me, and it's no wonder to me that the generation to follow mine knows so little about so much, when they lack the ability to form full words.
Even their generation is abbreviated! We were 'Generation X', but they can't spit out the long word, so they are 'Gen Y'.
'Apps' makes my skin crawl every time I hear it, but it's so common in the vernacular now, it's probaby accepted in Scrabble.
Then yesterday, on JJJ news, Gen Y reached an all time language low – in my opinion. The newsreader (who holds an educational role as a deliverer of information) spoke about some goings on in the 'House of Reps'. Eeeeeeeeeeeeew! Is 'Representatives' too long for you to say, dear? Running out of time? What is it? Why can't you speak properly?
