Last week, I went to visit two sisters, an aunt, two nephews, a niece, and three great-nephews, and no, they do not all live together.
I also wanted to squeeze in a few wineries – it is my birthday week, after all – and put my feet up a bit, but it was only an overnight trip, and Sonny was there so that thwarted any feet-up scenario.
My sister, Kathy, has some lovely cows,
and a little, little motorbike…
…which all the kids thought was very cool – Sonny, the oldest one, testing it first…
Tully-dog scoots out of the way!
Then it was Evan’s turn
This old train carriage used to be attached to Kathy’s house, and her and Siobhan used it for their bedrooms. I loved it, but Kathy renovated and the carriage was moved. Unfortunately now it’s too rotten to move further – otherwise it would be the new spare bedroom at my house!
All was not lost. She gave me one of the mirrors from it for my birthday.
While the girls waited for their turn on the motorbike, there were other toys to try…
but this time, there was no lawn to mow, since it’s winter (freeeeeeezing cold that day) and it had been done recently anyway.
Belle proved that India really does have longer legs, cos every time she pushed the accelerator, the machine cut out, as she wasn’t on the seat anymore.
They solved the problem later, when they were transporting the cut logs around
These logs. See, it’s a bit tricky to wield a chainsaw with one hand, and Sonny’s always happy to play with toys like that, so he helps Kathy out.
Not that she doesn’t do a bloody good job of things anyway…
It was hard to drag Evan away from the bike, but the girls did get a turn.
How cute is this with the pink gloves!
Go India!
Evan ran alongside to make sure they didn’t have any trouble
Belle’s turn…
“C’mon Tully!”
So much fun!*
*Yes, Lisa, your place is fun too!
Sorry, Ben. Will visit you next time.
