ok
So, I'll just register. But I can't
because…
"Registration application is only open to professional media concerning worldwide newspapers, magazines, websites, mobile, publicists, PR firms, Model agencies, talent management and event organisations for the purposes of commercial licensing of photo and video content. Registration for personal viewing is not permitted."
Oh. That's weird.
So there's this photo, of Sonny and I, taken a couple of years ago at some event, and I'm not allowed to see it, as I don't work in the above industries – at least not to the extent that I have an email address attached to a registered domain name as further investigations proved I needed.
No big deal, I guess. But they are pretty strict about protecting their intellectual property, and doesn't that smack a little of What the Fuck?
This is a photo of me, and I'm not allowed to view it.
When you are stopped and asked to pose for a photo, you do so knowing that the image may be used in any manner of ways, but you expect to be able to view it yourself. Often it can't be duplicated, or even viewed as anything larger than a thumbnail as with my photo taken at Narcisco Rodriguez, in New York, but I could still view the image.
Well, if I can't see it, why should I let them make money from an image of me?

I think the abbreviated version of that is, "We're dickheads."
Really,
what's that all about?
I know I'll ask the photographer who they are shooting for, in future.
