To follow on from our conversation the other week, I'm off to the movies this evening, and may have a little drink, so I won't drive, I'll ride my pushy.
All good.
This is my council clean-up pushy and I have to admit I don't treat it with the utmost care. In fact, it has been in the spot I left it, outside, since I last rode it in December. I thought I should give it a little dust off, check for spiders, you know.
I did with a broom, and no great surprises, found a small redback, and about 3 of these tiny, spindly spiders with white stripes across their backs. Squished them with a thong and was done with it. That was until Doubting Laurence queried the possibility of me killing a redback that was on my bike. I had to take him out and show him the squished arachnid. Having a vaguely blonde moment I asked him if I should check a little more thoroughly. D-L bloked up and grabbed a stick and
we stopped counting at 12 redbacks – there were a lot more, and about 15 of the White Stripes (which, as it turns out, are baby redbacks).
All on my pushy!
I gave up using the thong for squishing. I pulled out the big guns with the spray.
They really just kept coming, and I don't think I've found mum yet.
Still not sure if I want to ride tonight?
