Essentially this is not a surfari, but they do call it Jungle Surfing, and it was the most fun I've had in the bush (ok, rainforest) ever!
Forget about going on one of those rainforest canopy walks *yawn* this is so much cooler.
You don't need to be super fit and agile, and you only need to be a teeny bit brave.
Safety gear?
Check.
Eager participants?
Check.
Then, let's go!
Awesome views, and what a great way to see the rainforest
Being up in the trees rather than down on the floor of the rainforest, you see so much more.
Our chaperones told us about the different trees, and the fauna –
they even had us licking ants' bums! The green tree ant tastes tart and lemony, but I'm not sure if all species of ant have a bum that's safe to lick, so I advise caution when trying this at home.
Twins aloft!
Then Sonny and I tandemed
and shot each other
SO
MUCH
FUN!
Why shoot with one camera, when you can shoot with two?…
Wheeee!
Modesty intact?
Just.
The course runs between five platforms attached to the trees. Small groups, and friendly guides who do all the hard work for you, make the flying fox run that is Jungle Surfing a must do if you are visiting the Daintree.
