I had it in my head that I wanted to make some wall lights out of old car tail-lights. I looked online, but was pretty put off by the hefty prices being asked for them.
Two weeks after I had abandoned the idea, my old mate Mick Murphy posted a photo in the social media of some old falcon ones, saying he wanted to get rid of them.
I hightailed it over to his workshop at Early Bird Restoration and Spares, and grabbed them.
It's been years since I owned my favourite XP Falcon, and used to go and work for Mick in the workshop, but I still love the cars, and it's always good to catch up with Murph.
Yup, that's right. Rocket powered slot cars.
I love the daylight in his shed.
Makes this pretty engine look even prettier!
A classic centre console..
I can think of a few people I could use this on…
My favourite car window – the front wing. A super sensible way of allowing air flow without ruining your hairstyle. I lament the lack of it in modern cars.
I miss the old cars, but until I get a little more spare time to spend on another Early Bird, I'll have to make do with visits to Mick's.
