I haven't had a visit from Kerstin for six years, and last saw her when we all squashed into her apartment in Sweden a bit over a year ago, so I was super excited to have her here.
Lucky for her, too, we had a break in the rain – she needed to work on her tan.
I got some new sunglasses, and they make everything look so good. I walk around with a big smile on my face, pointing out the incredible beauty in all I see, and forget that it's the glasses enahncing it.
Anyway, I've tried to show you what I saw when I first took Kerstin to the beach.
Gorgeous day!
Like many Swedes, she's an awesome surfer. Here she is tackling the kind of big waves that are normally left to only the most daring professional surfers.
While Evan gets a tow-in…
But I was really just enamoured with the sky. Look at those clouds!
And the water was so delicious!
The next day at Palm Beach was even nicer – the water was so clear and calm, but the wind on the beach was so strong, I ended up losing my hat and dress! Never to be found again!
Sunglasses on…
My board. Don't laugh.
That little speck out there, that's Evan
And this is me paddling on to a 'wave'
Kerstin, meanwhile, was 'tanning' on the beach, oblivous to the fact that all our stuff surrounding her had blown away.
Still, it was beautiful in the water.
Kerstin and I had so much fun. We played Scrabble almost every night, just like old times, when she lived in Australia.
We shopped,
we laughed a lot,
we even had a sleepover, at Scott's house, where he wined and dined us,
played Scrabble with us
and showed us his Aquaman impersonation
So much fun – and of course she bought me Cheez Doodles!
