Stop the presses again!
I have to interrupt my chronically out of date blog with another current post.
Yesterday, in the rain, we ventured out to see an exhibition of Sonny's photos here in Paris, as part of the Rives de la Beaute event. Great concept. An outdoor gallery of his backstage images in the Village Royal, a pedestrian only street lined with luxury boutiques, and in sunnier weather it would be a delightful place to stroll. For us it was more of a quick look, and snap a few pictures for Sonny, who has been so busy in Paris he hasn't had time to see them for himself. Those pictures will come later, when the chronically late blog reaches Paris.
We were supposed to meet Sonny after Vivienne Westwood, but like my blog, the day ran chronically late, we were wet, and waiting, and the show hadn't started, but the rain turned out to be fortuitous – we got to wait inside the backstage area.
I waited in the make-up room, but the kids could stand at the door and watch all the goings on. Pretty special for them. Like I said in Milan, kids don't get to go to shows too often, let alone backstage, and to Vivienne Westwood, no less.
I gave Evan my camera. He hasn't used it too much, and he is only 10, but I think, from his vantage point he did a good job.
I got the camera back in time to see the models removing make-up after the show….
I saw Dame Vivienne Westwood as we were leaving. That was a highlight for me. If you know me, you know I'm not really into fashion, I have no interest in designers, but this woman started punk! That's not just a fashion or a design, it's a movement, and you don't get much cooler than that.
Going out the front door, India-the-aspiring-model, struts it on the catwalk…
