I bought one of those deals, you know, the ones you get in your inbox every day.
Ok, well maybe you don't, but I get a few of them each day.
Anyway, this deal was for a photo print on canvas – a big one, a metre wide – and it was cheap, though it was a while ago, so now I can't even remember how cheap it was, which may mean it wasn't that cheap after all.
Because I had this deal, I thought I should get on with it and use it. I wanted a picture of my kids for the canvas, and it's been ages since I did any 'portraits' of them aside from the Christmas card (which is usually a debacle from a portrait point of view), so I bribed them with sweet food and got on with it.
I love the fact I have these in-house guinea pigs, ready for me to test out lights and stuff on!
Twinnies!
I like the freedom that comes with taking pictures of my kids. I know, when parents want me to take pictures of their kids, they don't want this. This is kids portraits Jacqui-style
Not surprising that my choice for the canvas print is not a smiling one like this…
…or even a straight-faced one, like this…
or this…
…or even this…
I wasn't allowed to do this one because "It's not fair if India is the only one looking at the camera" (?)…
So folks….
*drum roll*
I went with this one…
BECAUSE I LOVE IT!
It's disarming having a huge portrait of my kids with their eyes closed, and that's why I like it.
They have very emotive eyes, so with them closed there is an elegance, a simplicity, and an innocence.
Thanks for being the best (and most compliant) models, guys! xx
